In 2005 I was asked to come up with an idea to decorate the interior of a new ward for a nursing home, in cooperation with the interior decorator (Theo Franken of IAA Architects, the company who build the place).

My idea was to pull the outside in. Many people in that ward are not going outside very often, so I want to give them some images to tickle their senses. I also had to make a picture for every door inside the ward. For that I used old pictures (from the Stadsarchief & Atheneaumbibliotheek in Deventer), because a lot of the inhabitant suffer from Alzheimer’s' disease, and with an unique picture next to their door they can find their way around.
